Dental Hygienist
After graduating from Thomas W. Kelly High School, I continued my education at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene.
My husband and I have two children. Spending time with my family and friends is an important part of my life. My summers are spent at the ballfields cheering for my favorite baseball and softball players. In my free time, I enjoy playing the piano.
My favorite part of being a dental hygienist is the joy that I feel when I am educating and taking care of my patients. It is important that each one feels special, cared for and happy as they leave their dental appointment. I strive to do the very best that I can so that each patient leaves with their teeth feeling clean and with a shiny, beautiful smile!

I completed my Dental Hygiene degree from Missouri Southern University in Joplin, Missouri. Spending time with family, traveling, and doing outdoor activities is my favorite way to spend my time outside of the office. I also really enjoy trying international cuisines and my favorites are Indian and Thai foods! The most rewarding part of dentistry for me is being able to help and support our patients on their smile transformation journey.

I graduated from Cary Senior High School in Cary, North Carolina. I continued my education at Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina. I currently reside with my husband and pets in my hometown in Southern Illinois.
I began dental assisting in 1990, and I have been working to better my patients oral health for 32 years now. My favorite part of being an assistant is being able to ease patients’ anxiety and put them in a more relaxing environment.
My hobbies include dog training and caring for my animals. I also enjoy hanging out with friends and family in my spare time.

Upon graduation from Cape Central High school, I continued my education locally at Southeast Missouri State University. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Watching and supporting my three children play their favorite sport is a favorite of mine. (mainly band, swim, and football) My awesome husband is a captain at the fire department here in Cape Girardeau. Any free moment I have, I love traveling with my family. Dentistry allows me to connect with people on a personal level and help them fulfill their goals for their dream smile.
Andrew Novotney
Andrew grew up in Peru, IL and then went to Carbondale to get my Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology. After college, he moved to Cape Girardeau and attended Southeast College of Nursing and Health Sciences where he received a certificate in Medical Laboratory Sciences. He mainly works in a hospital as a Medical Lab Scientist, where he got the opportunity to meet the Nguyen family. He spends the mornings at Dr. Dennis’s practice where I serve patients in checking in/out, coordinate appointments, and sometimes assist at the dental chair. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, playing with his dog, and spending time with his fiancé and family.
Brooke Essner
Brook grew up here in Cape Girardeau, MO, where graduated from Notre Dame Regional High School and Southeast Missouri State University. She earned a degree in Biochemistry and certificate in Medical Lab Sciences. She mainly works in a hospital as a Medical Lab Scientist, where she met Dr. Dennis Nguyen’s wife, Cathryn. She took the opportunity to join this practice, where she is happy to meet and help the fascinating people that visit here. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking with her dog, painting, and spending time with her fiancé and family.
